This majestic church is now the largest Franciscan church in the Southwest
Just like its neighbour - the Saint-Alain cathedral - the Saint-François church inspires respect. Majestic, it is today the largest Franciscan church in the South West. The present building has a 13th century polygonal choir, a 14th century apse, a 15th century nave and a Way of the Cross designed around 1880. The interior decoration of the 19th century was mostly done by Toulouse artists: vault paintings by Gayral, stained glass windows by Bordieu (1852-1853) and Gesta (1888), terracotta by Virebent, and a large organ by Théodore Puget (1866).
