ABBEY MUSEUM
Museum allowing to plunge into the heart of the fascinating universe of the vineyard professions
Alchemists used to hide away in these cellars to work. Here, in the superb vaulted halls of Saint-Michel Abbey, this museum with its special atmosphere plunges visitors into the fascinating world of wine-making. Other worlds are also showcased, including sacred art, companionship, archaeology, navigation on the Tarn and popular arts and traditions. An interesting anecdote: the 13th-century Virgin and Child, stolen from the church of Saint-Michel, was recovered and repatriated from Italy to the museum.
