Museum allowing to plunge into the heart of the fascinating universe of the vineyard professions
Alchemists used to hide in these cellars to work. Here, in the superb vaulted rooms of Saint-Michel Abbey, this original museum with its special atmosphere plunges the visitor into the fascinating world of the vineyard trades. Other worlds are highlighted, including sacred art, companionship, archaeology, navigation on the Tarn, and popular arts and traditions. An interesting anecdote: the Virgin and Child dated from the 13th century, stolen from the church of Saint-Michel, was found and brought back from Italy to the museum.
