In the heart of old Gaillac, Saint-Pierre church attracts the curious and commands admiration. All in brick, it preserves many elements of its past, moreover its superb 14th century portal - decorated with niches, columns and capitals - is considered one of the most beautiful of its style in Occitania. At the corner of the facade, its bell tower preserves a large 15th century bell, the candelho, which has kept the name of the abbey from which it comes: (Candeil Abbey, which was one of the main ones in the Albigensian country in the Middle Ages).
