A major element of the city's protection strategy, this Visigothic-style tower is a much-visited monument in Villemur. Built in the 13th century, it prevented access to the ford and was part of the city walls, housing a seigniorial mill in its lower part, topped by a guard room. Renovated in 2011, it is now used as a well equipped exhibition space. In addition, a small museum presents the history of the city, its inhabitants and their particular consumption of sparrows ...
