A hikers' refuge with a comfortable dormitory near the Espingo ridge.
In the beautiful glacial valley of Larboust, this high altitude refuge welcomes hikers near the Espingo ridge, border with Spain, and the lake of the same name. On the way to the Portillon refuge, it is accessible in 2 hours walk from the Astau barns and in 1h30 from the Portillon. The dormitory is comfortable and the atmosphere friendly. In the heart of a bastion of mountain pastoralism, this camp is ideal for climbing the high peaks of the Luchonnais: 14 peaks over 3,000 m! In winter, it is a free emergency refuge.

Surplombant le lac, le refuge offre un panorama magnifique, surtout aux levers et couchers du soleil. Les locaux sont en bon état, avec possibilité de douche chaude. La gardienne actuelle, fort sympa !
