Around La Romieu Square, the visitor unveils with astonishment several sculptures of stone cats. He was the author of the Orleanese sculptor Maurice Serreau. It was inspired by a legend: in the xivth century, a young girl would have saved cats that hungry people wanted to eat. These cats would have eaten the rats that started to invade the village. The seniority of the legend is not attested but the sculptures are real and they will delight lovers of cats. The attitudes of cats are faithfully reproduced.
