This magnificent hall, the focal point of the town, gives a glimpse of the atmosphere that must have reigned in the Middle Ages under its heavy tiled roof and wooden beams. Built in the 14th century, it has managed to survive the centuries without going up in smoke like many of its counterparts in the region. The hall has a square, half-timbered tower in its centre, topped by a bell tower with a pepperpot. The merchants sheltered under the pillars, the consul occupied the first floor of the tower and the clock the second floor. It still strikes the hours.

Non. Vous n'êtes pas sur le Rhin : vous êtes bel et bien dans le Gers. Mais, rendez-vous tout de même au centre du village, au centre de la place, et vous découvrirez une magnifique halle carrée qui abrite les marchés et autres animations. Cette halle du XIVè siècle est surmontée d'un clocheton remarquable. Vous pourrez admirer l'édifice en prenant deux pas de côté et en faisant le tour sous les arcades des maisons et en vous arrêtant un moment devant l'une d'entre elles, à peine moins ancienne que la halle. En revenant sous celle-ci, vous pourrez lire la plaque commémorative de la venue d'une délégation d'outre-Rhin, qui témoigne de l'intérêt que nos amis allemands portent à ce village homonyme de leur ville.
