This castle remains an essential witness of the architecture of the South-Rouergue with its interior court, one of the most beautiful of the region
Mélac (noble house) was built at the beginning of the 14th century by the Lords of Gozon, a great family of Hospitallers. Mélac, on the circuit of the Hospitaller sites, remains an essential witness to the architecture of the South Rouergue with its inner courtyard, one of the most beautiful in the region, its three-storey Renaissance domed tower, and the 14th-century double-bay guard room with cross-warping. Special prize from the Jury of the Old French Houses for its entire restoration. In the summer, the castle opens its doors to the festival Les Musicales de Mélac.
