Petit Futé's opinion on CHAPEL SAINTE-FOY

Vintage plate 2020

Very little remains of this church, which almost serves as a survivor: a huge bell tower and a tiny chapel. This place of worship was dedicated to Saint Foy, a martyr from Agen. Part of the church dates from the 13th century, the stone bell tower from the 19th century. The church was partially destroyed in 1893. It housed a cemetery which hindered the passage of the boulevards and the station. The mayor Jean-Baptiste Durand decided to move one and destroy half of the other! As you leave the station, it is one of the first buildings you see.
