CHAPELLE NOTRE-DAME DE SABART
A remarkable chapel in Tarascon, classified as a historical monument, one of the most venerated in the diocese and very popular with pilgrims.
The sanctuary at Sabart dates back to the time of Charlemagne, in 778: the emperor dedicated a chapel to Notre-Dame de la Victoire in gratitude for his successes against the Saracens. The chapel was built on the site of a bronze statue of the Virgin Mary. After the Wars of Religion, the chapel was rebuilt, and a hospice and then a convent were founded. Listed as a historic monument in 1846, this chapel is one of the most venerated in the diocese.
