Les Terroirs du Plantaurel is a store located on the Lèze Valley road in Montégut Plantaurel, in the Ariege Pyrenees Regional Nature Park. The establishment was created by the Association pour adultes et jeunes handicapés d'Ariège (APAJH). It promotes the dignity and citizenship of people with disabilities, while striving for their personal fulfillment and integration into social life. In its workshop, the gourmet team revisits recipes using traditional know-how dating back to 1982. They offer sublime dishes and wines with character. You have access to a selection of red and white wines, delicate with a fruity touch, from the organic vineyards of Domaine du Sabarthès. The cellar contains such wonderful treasures as Les Vignals, La Plantaurel, Les Dolines, Capbourut and Oriège. You can enjoy them with a wine and food pairing, thanks to the gift boxes available in the store. You'll find a wide variety of products, including duck foie gras, a regional specialty, as well as duck legs and duck breast. The house showcases products from local agriculture, with a particular focus on quality and authenticity. Buy local meats, organic cookies and beers. MOUNTAIN COLA
Mountain cola is handcrafted in Bélesta, Ariège, using water from the intermittent Fontestorbes fountain. You can enjoy this cola at any time of day .Ingredients: carbonated water, sugar, natural flavor, caramel (E150), acidifier (E338), caffeine flavor, sodium benzoate. Bottled presentation.
DUCK NECK STUFFED WITH FOIE GRAS
Cold: For a delicious appetizer, cut the stuffed neck into medallions and serve on a bed of green salad or with a charcuterie dish. Tempered or warm: Cut the stuffed neck cold and reheat in a frying pan or oven just before serving. Serve with a green salad or roasted apples (fruit ).You can enjoy this product with our Domaine du Sabarthès wines.
SAMBUC
This handcrafted aperitif from Ariège will allow you to discover new flavors from the Ariège region. 12.5% alcohol. Ingredients: water, sugar, elderflowers, raisins, bananas, citric acid, yeast. Producer and bottler: Les Breuvages de Pyrène, Annie Cabon in Montégut Plantaurel, Ariège.
DUCK RILLETTES
Contrary to popular belief, duck rillettes are not considered to be one of the fattest foods. Our duck rillettes are made according to a traditional recipe. You can toast them as an aperitif or serve them fresh as an appetizer on a bed of salad or in a charcuterie platter. Ingredients: duck meat, rendered duck fat, salt, black pepper, thyme, bay leaf. Presentation in a verrine.
HYPOCRAS
Hypocras, a wine-based medieval aperitif to be served chilled. Les Terroirs du Plantaurel offers you this typically Ariège aperitif, which will introduce you to new flavors. Enjoy it with a block of foie gras .16% alcohol Ingredients: fine wine, alcohol, herbs (rose petals), spices (ginger, cardamom, cloves), caramel. Made by Séguéla in Tarascon sur Ariège.
Les Terroirs du Plantaurel foie gras is produced from free-range ducks force-fed with white corn.
Whole duck foie gras should be stored in a cool, dark place.
Remove from the verrine 30 minutes before serving.
Slice and serve on toasted toast, accompanied by Hypocras jelly and fresh or candied figs.
To accompany your foie gras, we suggest you try it with our Domaine du Sabarthès wines.
