Sports and leisure activities Montbel

This village is worth the detour for its 600 ha water plan, 60 million^m3 intended for agricultural irrigation. It is the largest low-water basin in the South-West. A little more than 70 ha are reserved for the tourist activity. Since 1984, the lake has been rapidly colonized by birds. 195 species nest on its banks. A site suitable for leisure activities: walks, mountain biking, picnics, sailing, canoe rental. A sandy beach stretches along the water's edge for the great joy of summer visitors.

Separating the Ariège and Aude, Lake Montbel is a vast expanse of artificial water where sportsmen can engage in many activities. The Voile River Sailing Club offers Optimists and canoes on time. Only a few, you will be able to explore the contours of the lake or take advantage of the beaches to make a relaxing break under the benevolent rays of the summer sun. Those who do not like crowds will find a guaranteed change of scenery within 570 hectares.
