Castle of the 13th century, which was the most important of the county of Foix, caves and balsams with paintings in the surroundings

Dating from the 13th century, this castle was the most important of the county of Foix. However, this site has not been inhabited for nearly 700 years, as the remains of the walls and towers prove. The surroundings of this fortress which dominates the basin of Auzat-Vicdessos are also to be discovered, in particular the caves and the balsams in which paintings are the object of a mysticism related to catharism. The site is currently the object of archaeological excavations.

Las vistas del valle merecen la pena. ¡Ojo!
