METZ HANDBALL
With this club, the City of Metz can boast one of the most beautiful lists of achievements in French team sports. Like the Toulouse stadium in boys' rugby or the RC Cannes in women's volleyball, Metz Handball clearly dominates the French women's handball in terms of the number of titles. The French championships and national cups can be counted by the dozen for a team that provides a large part of the French team. In Metz almost everyone knows the former captain Isabelle Wendling and, every weekend, nearly four thousand people occupy the stands of the Arena for league or European Cup matches. On the continental level, the club chaired by Thierry Weizman narrowly missed a European title in 2013 by failing in the EHF Cup final. In addition to a flag team recognized as a reference in France and Europe, Metz Handball also has a men's team and a very well structured handball school.
