A brasserie atmosphere, gourmet cuisine, a team and family values give this restaurant its distinctive character.

When you have grown up in a restaurant, and enjoyed tasting the dishes of your father, a chef, and in particular of a well-known address such as the Cheval d'Or in Gravelotte, it is as if you had fallen into the pot! It is now Sébastien Freund, with his dedicated team and the benevolent eye of his father, who takes the reins of the brasserie. Unavoidable canaille dishes such as beef tartar and kidneys are served alongside home-made foie gras and all-duck dishes, and in the evening, frogs' legs Provençal style are also offered.

Open all year round. New opening hours until March 31. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 11.45am to 2pm; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 11.45am to 2pm and 6.45pm to 9.30pm. Open on match days. Reservations recommended. Menus from €17.90 to €22.90 (brasserie). Menu card: approx. €20. Luncheon vouchers accepted, plus tickets. Meal vouchers accepted. Groups welcome (group meals on request). Terrace. Take-away sales.

Message from Management

This brasserie, which recalls the adolescence of the inhabitants of Metz, has been reinvented as a restaurant where elegance and modernity are the order of the day. Sébastien Freund, the owner, is keen to serve local products from Lorraine in his restaurant. The institution is rated among locals for its steak tartare prepared directly, according to the customer's preference, and the frog legs served at will on Friday and Saturday nights. Their desserts are also very popular, especially the profiteroles.

L’endroit idéal pour manger avec un match du FC Metz, l’intégralité du staff habillée aux couleur du club local, un service rapide et sans chichis, on sent clairement l’esprit brasserie de par l’ambiance et les plats proposés, plats de qualité et faits maisons pour un rapport qualité prix plus que convenable!
