THE VIRGIN OF GORZE
In 1868, the inhabitants of the small village of Gorze, a medieval jewel of the country messin, ramparts at the top of Mont Saint-Blin a statue to the Virgin as a thanks. Indeed, the graces of the Madonna had preserved them from the speed cholera epidemics that hit the region at the time. In the past, between 5 000 and 6 000 worshippers would come from all over Lorraine to take part in the pilgrimage organised on 1 May. On the basis of the statue, the following inscription can be read: " They have established me as the guardian of their city. " Today, there is still a particular feeling of fullness. From this point of view, the panorama of the village and its surroundings is magnificent and the statue of the Virgin decorated with gold leaves is light.
