JAUMONT MUSEUM
Museum of the work of Jaumont located in Amnéville, ideal for lovers of classical music, concerts, readings.
Antoine Dyduch's museum is located in Malancourt-la-Montagne, one of the places where the famous Jaumont stone is extracted. In this cathedral-like 2,000m2 warehouse, the artist exhibits his monumental sculptures made of the "Pierre de Soleil" which has given its yellow, ochre and gold colors to many buildings in the region. This place is not only dedicated to art but also to philosophical reflection, and this from the entrance. The visitor is called to cross a colossal arch to enter the universe of Jaumont's work. The striking contrast between the lintel, weighing several tons, with its irregular, almost moving forms, and the straight, smooth columns makes this "Gate of Letters" the symbol of the Odyssey of Life, between excess and serenity. The works of Antoine Dyduch, a true sculptor-philosopher, have for leitmotiv the transformation of matter into spirit. Everything revolves around the philosopher's stone and its ability to transcend man's material condition. In "The Last Museum", as the artist calls it, art, beliefs and religions, philosophy itself are distanced, inviting man, through this ode to tolerance, to a spiritual communion. On Sundays, the artist himself will be your guide. And for lovers of classical music, concerts and readings are organized within the museum to combine, for a moment, musicality, art and spirituality.
