Marian shrine on the hill of Sion, with a basilica, a welcome house and a store, a place of pilgrimage.
For 10 centuries, the Marian sanctuary of the hill of Sion has been shining on Lorraine and beyond. Before our era, the Celts, the Leuques and then the Gallo-Romans had chosen this hill as a sacred place in honour of their dieus, in particular Rosmertha, goddess of fertility. During the summer season, many pilgrims of all ages climb up to the Shrine of Our Lady of Sion. Pilgrims can gather at the Basilica of Our Lady of Sion to honour the Virgin, at the Chapel of the Enlightenment or at the Chapel of Saint Joseph (in the Marguerite space). A team of volunteers from the sanctuary welcomes you to the Maison Notre-Dame, which has two rooms and a garden for rent, as well as a shop. Horizons Solidaires is a grocery and craft store specializing in monastic and fair trade products. The shop also has a bookstore and card shop. Not forgetting the cafeteria, open during the day and which allows pilgrims and visitors to have a hot drink. The Horizons Solidaires shop is a real place of welcome and an unmissable stopover for all pilgrims. All the volunteers work hard to animate this high place of spiritual devotion by warmly welcoming pilgrims passing through for their religious stays.
