CHURCH OF ST. ETIENNE

Built in the heart of Faux-la-Montagne, next to the Place de la Fontaine, this church is dedicated to Saint Stephen, the^first martyr of Christianity. Although the precise date of its construction is unknown, it is linked to the 12th and 13th centuries. Louis d'Aubusson, knight of Saint-Jean de Jérusalem, commander of Charrières et Gentioux, founded a vicarage with a chaplain to serve it in 1468. Following major restoration work carried out over the last ten years, the beautiful pink granite masonry of the building has undergone a real renaissance.
