The Course du Canigó is one of the most famous and technical trails in France. A piece of advice: leave prepared!
Since 1905, the Canigó championship has paid homage every year to the ice carriers who, in fine weather, would carry blocks of ice weighing over 80 kg on their backs down from the Canigó glacier so that the wealthy guests of the Vernet thermal baths could refresh themselves pleasantly. The Course du Canigó is one of the most famous trails in France. Undergrowth, meadows and rocky outcrops, with its impressive difference in height, you will encounter all the alpine stages along the way. The record for men is 2h58 min and for women 3h41 min.
