Those nostalgic for the warm sound of vinyl have a brand-new address in Perpignan. Cougouyou Music - named after the Cogollo peak overlooking Fillols in the Conflent region - is an independent record store offering almost 4,000 items, 90% vinyl and 10% CDs, in musical styles as diverse as pop, rock, new-wave, punk, hip hop, soul, trance, house, hard, garage, a wide choice among which jazz and electro occupy a prominent place. With 300 new entries every week, there's always a little gem to be found in the bins. Cougouyou Music also sells music books and second-hand turntables. The store is bright and well laid out, with a friendly welcome and a Facebook page where you can keep up to date with the latest news.
