The Hospici d'Illa, founded in the century, is one of the few preserved hospitals in the South of France

The Hospici d'Illa is one of the few hospital establishments preserved in the South of France. Founded in the 13th century, it welcomed the poor, travellers and pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The Hospici consists of a main building divided into two levels of alcoves that open onto a chapel. The permanent collection includes 12th century wall paintings, an altarpiece and a Romanesque altar front, paintings and sculptures from the 17th and 18th centuries. Thematic exhibitions are organised there on a regular basis.

Opening time and information on ILLA HOSPICE

Closed from November to January. High season: open Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm; the weekend and public holidays from 2pm to 6pm. The remainder of the year the opening days are very variable, it is preferable to call the 04 68 84 83 96. Free for under 12-year-olds. Adult: €4. Child (from 13 to 18 years old): €3. Group (10 people): €3. Shop.
