Park dedicated to the wolf since 1985 in Saint-Léger, one of the most touristic places in Lozère, guided tours proposed.
This area, which has been entirely dedicated to the wolf since 1985 (on the initiative of wildlife journalist Gérard Ménatory), is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Covering 25 hectares, it has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Lozère, and is home to over a hundred wolves, representing all five subspecies. To put it simply, it's Europe's biggest park dedicated to wolves, and in 40 years it's undergone a great deal of evolution and innovation. To fully immerse yourself, we advise you to visit the park in different seasons: the atmosphere and behavior of the wolf are never the same depending on the period. Let's face it, this park has a real charm under the snow, especially if you want to observe the newly-arrived Arctic wolves and admire the beauty of their fur.
The visit includes a museographic area devoted to wolf myths and legends, including that of the Beast of Gévaudan, as well as the particularities of the species and current events. The park also features a children's area with a drawing workshop. During guided tours, you'll learn all about wolf ethology. Feeding time, at the end of the afternoon three times a week, is impressive.
Activities are diversifying, with night-time visits at dusk, a perfect time to listen to howls, a virtual tour of Europe's fauna (with RV headset) and a raptor animation organized by Griffondor falconry.

J’ai payé 400 euros pour 2 entrées au parc pour voir quelques loups dans un état lamentable , une tanière où il faisait 35 degrés , même pas une climatisation ! Nous sommes repartis car impossible de rester dormir …. Quand au repas et petit dej du foutage de gueule . J’étais heureuse de venir je suis repartie écœurée et ayant mis 400 euros à la poubelle . Car je comptais faire la visite guidée le lendemain matin mais j’ai repris la route le soir même . À fuir .
De plus la personne présente derrière la caisse était limite aimable .
Le parc est vraiment super, les loups magnifiques, tout comme la nature alentours.
Venir dans le Gévaudan et ne pas visiter le Parc des Loups aurait été impensable. Nous n'avons pas été déçus de notre arrêt dans ces lieux. Les commentaires du guide ont été très instructifs et intéressants quant au mode de vie des loups et plus précisément de chaque race ou origine qui se différenciaient par leur robe ou pelage. Nous avons même eu la chance d'observer des louveteaux, chose qui apparemment n'est pas courante.
Un très beau parc, très bien aménagé avec une vue imprenable sur les sommets lozériens. Le personnel est accueillant et disponible. Visite à recommander.
Les differentes espèces sont bien présentées et le guide très sympatique
Le petit jeu de chasse était ludique (mais un peu dommage de ne pas avoir de support papier)
À faire au moins une fois dans sa vie ! (Surtout en basse saison)
