Un joli petit village dont le cœur est entouré de remparts ce qui lui donne un certain charme malgré le peu de visiteurs et d’animation en cette saison. Une agréable ballade dans les ruelles qui vaut le détour.

Bien qu'en hiver le Malzieu soit un peu une ville morte cette bourgade possède un bâti ancien remarquable fait de tours et de remparts dignes d'intérêt, et généralement bien restaurés
On peut parcourir ce bourg de haute Lozère très typique en deux heures en ayant l'impression de remonter dans le temps.
A proximité, les gorges de la Truyère avec la porte des fées complètent la visite de ce site remarquable
