Caught between the communes of rape-le-For and Saint-Martin in London, and opening near the Mas de Paill, 15 kilometres north of Montpellier, the Aven de la Gallows is one of the cavities whose depth exceeds 100 metres. Local speleologists even measured it at 178 metres, one of the deepest caves of L. The aven is made up of several successive wells, allowing to frayer a path through the calcite flows. Very tortuous, the aven of the Gallows is sometimes used for caving exercises.
