THE VILLENEUVE SALTWORKS

Les Salines is a protected area of nearly 300 hectares, divided between fresh and salt water, which gives it its originality and the great diversity of its landscapes. Exploited as early as the Middle Ages for salt, its production was abandoned at the end of the 1960s, gradually returning the Saltworks site to nature. A hike will take you through these former saltworks belonging to the Conservatoire du littoral (Coastal Protection Agency) and you will discover an environment of great ecological richness.
