This priory located near Lodève is the only monastery of the Grandmont order preserved in its entirety since the centuries.
Near Lodève, on a site occupied since prehistoric times, the Priory dominates a grandiose landscape. Classified as a Historic Monument, this jewel of Romanesque architecture is the only monastery of the Order of Grandmont preserved in its entirety since the 12th-13th centuries. Very sober, its church is the very type of the Grandmont church with its nave in a broken barrel vault and its chevet in a cul-de-four. Illuminated by a triplet, its acoustics are remarkable, and concerts are scheduled there.

Superbe monastère roman, le détour vaut absolument la peine ! Situé dans un cadre de verdure très calme, vous pourrez visiter les différentes pièces du monastère dont l'église, le cloître très intime et la salle capitulaire. C'est vraiment dommage de ne pas pouvoir accéder à l'étage du cloître pour avoir la vue d'en haut. A l'extérieur, un parc animalier et un dolmen plairont bien aux plus petits.

Un endroit à ne pas manquer, un peu reculé, après Lodève. Un grand parc plein d'énergie et où l'on peut apercevoir des animaux sauvage en liberté. Le prieuré en lui même est un bel endroit très riche en terme de découvertes.
