FAIRGROUNDS

In the past, the Rue de la Foire was used by processions during festivals and processions. Here you'll find a number of fine ^15th and ^16th-century mansions, including the Hôtel de Wicque (at^no. 7) with its Renaissance façade, and the Hôtel de Carrion-Nizas with its ^17th-century door. They epitomize the architectural innovations of the period: interior courtyards, exterior staircases and turrets. To take in their beauty, look up and you'll also discover at^no. 22 the carved door top depicting child musicians, the fashionable motif of the ^18th century.
