The gallery Le Mat is a young underground gallery located in the heart of the Ecusson. Multitasking it provides a place of exhibition, projection, concert, residence, research, broadcast and meeting. Founded by Nils Bertho and Marjorie Accarier, two artists who graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Nîmes. The gallery offers a parallel circuit, a platform of independent reporting. This gallery is an address for fanzines and independent magazines fans. It includes an important background of editing, artistic and collective creations, screen prints, albums, books and art objects. A real trade hub of the fanzine in Montpellier. Apart from being an art gallery or center, it is a platform for the creation and distribution where artists go to exhibit, meet and make themselves visible. Our little advice: please call before to be certain that MAT is open. The owner, Nils, is also gently rock'n'roll like his works and the opening times given can fluctuate.
