At the foot of the Jardin de la Motte, hidden between the Plan Izard and the Rue Diderot, the castle of the Counts of Melgueil discreetly reveals its remains. Built on the same alluvial soil as la Motte, it was most certainly built on the very spot where the first stone castle of the Counts of Melgueil (12th century) stood. Bought by the City in 2007, its rehabilitation completed in 2019 now allows you to contemplate some of its elements.
