A 1h15 visit to the apothecary, a charitable institution created by bishops and benefactors in Lodève.
The Apothicairerie de l'Hôpital Saint-Jean is one of only two surviving 19th-century pharmacies in the Hérault region. It is located within the hospital, which was founded in 1284. In the 1990s, a museum area was created around the 1837 apothecary. During a 1h15 guided tour, you'll discover the apothecary's remarkable collection, which includes a laboratory, a back store and a main dispensary resembling a natural history cabinet.
