DEPARTMENTAL AREA OF SALAGOU

Resulting from remarkable geological events, shaped by the work of Mediterranean peasants and recently enriched by a lake, this departmental estate offers everyone the spectacle of exotic scenery, where red rock is outcropping on all sides. This rock, which gives the landscape its splendid colours, is locally called "ruffe". The earth is therefore in places so red that it looks as if it is bathed in blood. It offers a magnificent spectacle when it contrasts with the blue of the lake.
