A visionary who had the idea of making great wines on the best terroirs in the world since the 1970s, John Goelet, an American of French origin, has always had a traditional approach to wine based on finesse and elegance. Since 1972, he has already created Clos du Val in Napa Valley (California), Taltarni in Victoria (Australia) and Clover Hill in Tasmania. Convinced by the qualitative potential of Languedoc for a long time, John Goelet and Bernard Portet, loyal advisor since the beginning and now president of Clos du Val, sought and identified some exceptional terroirs before setting their sights on the Domaine de Nizas. For the past twenty years, the Domaine de Nizas team has had the ambition to produce great Mediterranean wines in a traditional way, revealing the magnificent Terroir of Pézenas. And for the past twelve years, the estate has been setting up integrated viticulture.
