ARENA OF BÉZIERS

The arenas of Béziers are among the most impressive buildings of the city. Begun in 1897 and completed in 1905, their construction on the "Plateau de Valras" required major work. Made of brick and stone, they have concentric terraces and a circular track of more than 50 meters in diameter. This arrangement makes it a high place for bullfighting shows, a great local tradition. They are also very appreciated for their acoustics and host many concerts, as well as regular cultural events.
