CHURCH OF SAN MARTIAL D'ASSAS

Accoladed at Assas Castle, this chapel dedicated to Saint Martial was built between xie and xiith century. Long left to abandon, the numerous works carried out since the 1960 s now allow to admire a building in good condition, particularly representative of the religious architecture of Languedocian. The most remarkable element of the building is the tympan of its southern door decorated with a fine stone resilla. The church was classified under Historical Monuments in 1987.
