As early as 1743, the artery, which leaves the fountain of the Fountain to end the railway line, fell into désuétude. The avenue Jean-Jaurès was the ideal place for a walk. It's the ideal place for a walk. Launched in 2004, its redevelopment advances by segment and involves the projects of architect Designer Designer. After long work, which is very binding on the merchants and neighbours, a first tranche was opened in October 2010. According to a global plan to rédistribution traffic routes, the decrease in motor traffic with the adoption of semi-communal transit opens new spaces to passers-by. Bicycle paths, green spaces and pedestrian areas are favoured. In the central part, the parking lot is now underground and paid. Kiosks, benches and water jets give a very southern side of the Ramblas, while planted plants will not have to grow too much at the risk of breaking the perpective. Ancient nettle has been preserved and already, we see the great ambition of the future Champs-Elysées nimois: bring the people back to this historic axis.
