While its admittedly larger neighbour Montpellier is France's leading gay city, Nîmes has sadly for a very long time lacked venues where the gay community could party. The Soundworkers association, made up of gay techno DJs, remedied this in 2014 by creating the immediately successful "Dancin'" Sunday nights in the old stone vaulted basements of Finito Cordoba. Here, gays can finally come and dance or have a drink at the end of the weekend to some decidedly techno music, and admission is free.
