Le Bistrot Gourmand is one of Homps' must-visit addresses. Here, conviviality and good humor are the order of the day, transmitted by the fine team in a well-kept setting comprising a small, modernly decorated dining room and a shady terrace on the banks of the Canal du Midi. The plates feature simple dishes made with fresh produce, while the glasses are filled with fine local wines carefully selected by Jean-Christophe, the owner. An excellent Minervois rosé is the perfect accompaniment to tapas and verrines, while a more robust Corbières red is ideal with a charcuterie board or meat grilled a la plancha. Fans of white wines will appreciate La Livinière crus, to be drunk as an aperitif, and followed by the dish of the day, generally fish-oriented. Desserts round off the meal on a gourmet note: panna cotta, crème brûlée, chocolate coulant...

No effort wasted on decor and table setting but they certainly make up for it with food quality and presentation. Go for it!
