The Medieval of Provins are to live at least once when you are crossing in Seine-et-Marne! On a weekend in June, the high city then concentrates all the medieval activities imaginable, street animations, costume parades, typical camps, workshops, medieval games (especially for children), dances, songs, shows (sometimes paying, with obligatory reservation), balls, concerts, fire spitting, etc. everything in a party atmosphere, often under a warm spring sun. At these very numerous festivities, there are lanes that crumble beneath the booths of artisans coming to present their products: honey, spices, hypocras, sculptures, medieval pastries, fantasy jewelry, glamorous jewelry and arbalts of warriors… You can take a few cents in the pocket (cash and checkbook) because it is hard to resist in front of so many souvenirs to keep or gifts to be made to your loved ones. Consideration for such a party: There are many people! It is therefore necessary to park in the parking spaces in the lower city (free shuttle bus leads to the upper city), rather than trying to park near the medieval city. Another important point: because of the narrowness of certain streets, "bottlenecks" are formed, especially when hundreds of people are at the entrance to the Place du Châtel: If you come with young children, it's time to hold their hand! For the rest, a whole day in full immersion in this Provins will leave you an incredible impression of unsettling… And say we're not far from Paris!
