House allowing to discover the main masterpieces of Jean François Millet

It was in this house that the famous artist lived for 25 years until his death in 1875. The first room, the studio, was the birthplace of his main masterpieces(The Angelus, The Gleaners, Man with a Hoe...) and has been preserved in the state his widow left it. In the second room, we can see the amazing fireplace in patinated plaster by David d'Angers. The third room was one of Charles Jacque's workshops. This museum with its hushed rooms is best visited out of season.

Ça s'appelle musée Millet et c'est un atelier brouillon avec du bric à brac sans aucune oeuvre du peintre mais des brouillons de travail. Il y a clairement tromperie sur la marchandise. Les autorités de tutelle sont elles au courant ? Aucune comparaison avec les deux vrais musées départementaux de qualité. Et le prix est quasiment le même (6€ pour les musées départementaux et 5 € pour le "musée" Millet).

L'authenticité du lieu participe de l'intérêt de la visite. Un musée en trois espaces distincts. L'accueil y est chaleureux.

Das bescheidene Atelier des “Parrain du maîtres de l’Impressionnisme”. Wohnung der Familie mit 9 Kindern, Bruder und Magd. Man sieht nur 3 Räume, einige Bilder aus der Schule von Barbizon aber das Wichtigste ist wohl ohnedies die Atmosphäre des in Originalzustand verbliebenen Gebäudes. Für an Malerei Interessierte einen Abstecher wert. Tickets Online zu kaufen - es gibt aber hier keinen Touristen-Stau.
