Large brasserie in Paris offering a family cuisine without fuss, a menu of meats and desserts.
The Bouillon Chartier, in the Grands Boulevards district, is one of the rare bouillons still in operation. In the purest Belle Epoque style, its large dining room was listed as a historical monument in 1989. The cuisine, at low prices (you can understand the queue at each service), is family style: leeks with vinaigrette, snails, roast farm chicken/fries, duck confit with potatoes... For dessert? Chocolate mousse, caramel cream or simple apple sauce. The service is provided by waiters in Rondin jackets and white aprons.
