Restaurant in a splendid setting offering a cuisine inspired by the French tradition.

In addition to the Café des Hauteurs and the Mezzanine where you can enjoy a drink and nibble, the Orsay museum has a real Restaurant. The 1900 aesthetics are mixed with the contemporary style of furniture - the sites have been framed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The framework is splendid: large glass-panelled windows, impressive crystal chandeliers, gilded, ceilings painted by Gabriel Ferrier and Benjamin Constant. On plates, chef's kitchen, Yann Landureau, makes sure to surprise you with his cuisine inspired by the French tradition. For the presentation, he plays with colors, for flavours, he often opts for sweet salé or light spices.

Solferino metro. RER C Museum-with Orsay. Museum open from 9.30am to 6pm – until 9.45pm Thursday –, closed on Monday. Exhibitions, concerts, cinema, conferences, classes of history of art, conferences. Restaurant open from 11.45am to 2.45pm, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm – except Thursday as long as tea room, from 7pm to 9.30pm Thursday. Lunch menu: €16.50. Menu dinner: €42. Card. Children's menu: €7.60. Café des Hauteurs: from 10.30am to 5pm – until 9pm Thursday –, with terrace open from May to October. Mezzanine: light meals from 10am to 5pm. Bookstore-shop.

Fantastic! We went there on Thursday night with the late opening ticket. The main course, sea bass, is delicious, and the price is reasonable. The champagne and dessert are also good. The waiter is professional and friendly. This is going to be my must-visit whenever I visit Paris!

Definitely worth going for lunch. Stunning room and fabulous service, just lower your expectations with the food. One of us had the cod which was nice, but the Caesar salad was not good, overly dressed no egg or bacon and just not good. But you do somewhat forget that as the room is so stunning and the staff are fabulous
