The Hôtel Récamier - built in 1918 - is a former two-star hotel that slumbered in a well-hidden corner of Place Saint-Sulpice. Under the leadership of Sylvie de Lattre, it has been given a new lease of life, and now appears as a quietly luxurious establishment. In the lobby, the black and grey tiled floor gives the impression of entering a private mansion. And while Madame Récamier may not have lived here, her bust is everywhere, revisited by contemporary artists such as Klein, Christo and Nikki de Saint-Phalle. All the rooms, furnished in the spirit of the 40s, 50s or 60s, have been revisited and are organized around themes identified by different colors on each floor. The beds are topped with a canopy that envelops you in its beautiful woven fabric, sometimes embellished with a detail such as a flower-shaped mirror. The bathrooms, with shower or bathtub as the case may be, are all decorated with identical materials but in different tones. They are equipped with Fragonard products and Egyptian cotton bathrobes and towels. Rooms overlooking Saint-Sulpice can be privatized to create a two-bedroom family suite. Guests are offered tea or cold drinks in the small lounge, which opens onto a pergola-covered terrace.
