Real Parisian brasserie-cantine offering simple and home-made dishes with quality products.

A real Brasserie open from morning to evening for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even brunch. The lunch menu with a main course, dessert and coffee is more than fair. The grilled salmon with rice and vegetables is perfect. The menu is suitable all day, all tastes and budgets: from sandwich, croque-monsieur via dishes consisting of well-stocked omelettes and salads that are just as important. The dishes are simple and homemade with quality ingredients. The clientele is eclectic, which makes the atmosphere very friendly. Some students from time to time make their canteen there, tourists love the typical French touch of Parisian brasserie, the teachers or people from the neighbourhood also come there either to drink a coffee or enjoy the daily special. The waiters are efficient, and very smiling. Bonus: the sunny terrace is heated in winter and plaids are available! You should not forget that the 6th arrondissement is known for its musical evenings. Le Comptoir is no exception to the tradition, jazz evenings are organized every Thursday.

You can come here if you have no other plans for the day. You will wait 40' to get a soup and a sandwich (croque). The service, rude as you may expect, will meet the standards of Parisian discourtesy; eventually the visibly slaved cooks at the end of the sitting room will provide the meal you deserve, served with some supermarket mesclun. The onion soup is like a frozen cheese pizza in a bowl of tasteless dirty water, and the croque is an untoasted thin slice of supermarket bread. I don't recommend it though.

While we were looking for a place to hide from the rain. We entered this typical French bistro, it turned out to be a very nice place. Pretty quick and friendly service from the staff. The food was delicious and the atmosphere pleasant. You must try the creme brûlée from the desserts - extremely delicious.
