Gastronomic restaurant in Paris serving hearty and tasty dishes, meats and a famous burger
Phanie took over this restaurant, founded by his grandfather in 1948. With a name like that, you'd expect this to be an exclusively Auvergne gastronomy restaurant, which it certainly is, but the menu is skilfully extended to French standards. It's simple, hearty and tasty, whether it's a cassolette of snails, an assortment of Cantal charcuteries and formages, grilled entrecote, carrot beef or the famous bougnat burger. Dinners here usually end with a lovely stroll along the quays. Very romantic!

Au Bougnat is super-cozy petite french restaurant hidden in the narrow meandering streets of "Île de la Cité". Despite its prominent location.. just a few steps from the gothic towers of Notre Dame.. the prices are not out of proportion at all. They are open from 9 am what makes it excellent choice for some good morning coffee. Design is beautifully old-fashioned and very Parisian. I really admired an ancient cellar lift right in the middle of the front bar :-)
