J’aime beaucoup ♥️

If you are looking for an authentic Parisian experience at a reasonable price, this isn’t the place for you. EUR 150 per head for a lunch of chicken and chips and a glass of wine (with snails to start - EUR 50!) felt like daylight robbery. I’ve eaten much better food elsewhere for a fraction of the price. I highly recommend you consider other options before dining here

So.. L’Ami Louis… this would be a five star rating from me on all counts, every single time… yet somehow one remembers the often eye watering bill and increasingly touristic dining room… no grudge held though, as one always returns for more! See you again soon!

Excellent food - overpriced but top quality ingredients. Amazing confit de canard, fries and foie gras

A CAUTIONARY review. Enter at your own risk visitors.

Lets get the basics out of the way first. We knew very well that this was a pricey place. We had the "famous" roast chicken with the fries - this was our only food. I figured a whole chicken for 2 was enough at lunch. Canadians have a roast chicken culture, coast to coast chains specialize in just that, so maybe I'm jaded or biased. The chicken was very good, but not the best meal you'll eat in Pairs by far. The fries i might sell a child for. Bread and butter was also good.

Ambiance.. meh, i'm pretty sure the tablecloths were the same material as an 80's junior bridesmaids outfit I had: peach overload. The fruit set up was very nice though. You will smell of roast chicken when you leave and for hours after.

HOWEVER and here's where my caution begins, if the price is not listed ASK.
You are brought a tome of a wine list. Maybe 40-50 pages. It was lunch so we simply asked for a glass of white. I have never had a GLASS (yes one) of white wine cost €26!! Thats $39 Canadian. For one glass. (Keep reading it gets better)

I have had espresso in Michelin starred restaurants - and L'Ami Louis is not one. You expect to pay a premium in those kinds of places... but €9? Thats highway robbery.

I left feeling rather used, like i was paying a tourist tax because they didn't want us there. Considering there were only two tables, including us, occupied- they could do worse than some bougie foodies.

In short, I would strongly suggest you could have TWO better meals in Paris for what this one lunch cost.

Food was great . However extremely overpriced with no justification for what so ever ( Green salad 35€ ) believe it or not just a green salad.. . Service was 50:50 rude and okay .But the owner ARROGANT and RUDE basically the more green salad you order the faster you become his favorite client. Money has stolen this persons soul ????
. The location is cold , simply zero justification for price value.

One of the most original French bistros that I have ever tried. Original French food, no glamour but the food was incredible.

Overrated. Food is medium - too salty and fat. Louis (chef and owner) is way too chatty / inappropriate, he would not leave our table. Crowd bit tacky

Passez votre chemin.

UNA DELICIA!!

One of the most clubby bistros in Paris. With only 14 tables and with the great and the good of Parisian society, Judges, bankers, artists and actors wanting to dine here no wonder it’s hard to get a table. It has has been visited by Bill Clinton, Jacques Chirac and Vice President Kamala Harris. The prices are high enough to scare most tourists away. The famous roast chicken, with its accompanying tower of shoestring fries is the most expensive chicken in Paris. They serve it in two portions so don’t finish the first serving. Portions are large so better come hungry
