LIBRAIRIE BRENTANO’S
Threatened by the spiralling increase of rent costs in the capital, this mythical bookstore was almost forced to close. Luckily, Brentanos was saved by buyer excelling in the stationery and the press. The regulars regret the time when it had this unique touch of authenticity and a wider choice of books. Of course, there is still a range of specialized works: patchwork, spirituality, sports, management, examinations, tourism, art… But, aware of the tourist potential of the neighbourhood, Brentano has diversified and, on a large part of its 200 m², multiple displays with everything related to writing, notebooks, pencils, a multitude of decorative objects that attract their eyes. Inviting to the motionless journey, beautiful coloured plates, original lamps, and especially postcards and posters on the air that are exposed to the glamorous passers-by.
