Ideal address for a good, cheap meal with its simple lunch menu, its selection of cold cuts and cheese.
Raw walls, non-existent signage, salvaged furniture, old mismatched sofas, Formica chairs and tables: we didn't really go out of our way to decorate Les Pères Populaires. The same goes for the menu, which is ultra-simple at lunchtime, with a starter, a choice of two main courses and a dessert. But it's clear that we've gone to a lot of trouble in the kitchen, and we're reminded, for example, of the ribs with dill lentil salad, a truly gourmet dish. Not surprising, given that the chef's name is Elsa Marie and that she worked her way up through the ranks of some of Paris's finest restaurants (Septime, Lignac, Grand Véfour). For lunch, choose a charcuterie, cheese or mixed board. THE inexpensive gastro spot in the neighborhood.
