FONDATION LE CORBUSIER
In 1923, the modernist architect Le Corbusier (1887-1965) built two adjoining houses: the villas La Roche and Jeanneret - the latter houses the administration of the foundation whose mission is to make his work known by organizing exhibitions and to preserve all of his original works (drawings, paintings, sculptures, furniture, tapestries, writings ...). A visit to the La Roche house is fascinating. The sobriety of the lines, the play of light, the practical and functional aspect of certain rooms: everything forces the admiration. One can also see famous pieces of furniture by "Corbu" in their original context.
Le Corbusier's apartment-workshop is also open to the public (hours available on the Foundation's website). It is located on the top two floors of the Immeuble Molitor (24 rue Nungesser-et-Coli), designed by Le Corbusier between 1931 and 1934. You will discover the place where the architect lived and created, where he spent more than thirty years. The La Roche and Jeanneret houses, as well as the Molitor building, have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2016
