The French Ophtalmologie Society was founded on January 29, 1883 by Paul Chibret, bringing together 42 ophthalmologists from France, Switzerland, Belgium and Spain. Today it is the largest international Francophone society of ophthalmology. It publishes one or two reference books each year, a monthly journal, and it organizes an annual congress. On its site the public can find information about the main eye pathologies, the examples of fact sheets on surgical interventions and news that affect us all.
